I am a PhD student with the IDEAL (Infectious Diseases of East African Livestock), which is a collaborative project between Edinburgh University, ILRI (the International Livestock Research Institute), and the Universities of Pretoria and Nottingham. My PhD is with the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Science, but I split my time between the Roslin Institute and Ashworth, Kings Buildings. My main supervisor is Dr Mark Bronsvoort.

I qualified as a vet from the Royal Veterinary College in 2007, and prior to joining the IDEAL team, I worked in mixed practice in Worcestershire. I also have spent several months working with the Brucellosis Dept. at the VLA, Weybridge.
My PhD is likely to concentrate on comparative diagnostics (including clinical decision making tools), and the role of co-infections
