I am a postdoc working on the Scottish Government funded EPIC project. My principal research interest on this project is in the forecasting of future risks and opportunities presented by external factors and influences to the livestock sector in Scotland. The project will thus combine epidemiological models with risk analysis and economic models of the livestock sector.

Prior to my current postdoc position I did an MSc in GIS and a PhD in the spatial epidemiology of Foot and Mouth Disease at the University of Edinburgh. Subsequently I worked at the University of Glasgow as a postdoc on projects analysing patterns of Campylobacteriosis in Scotland and surveillance strategies for bovine Tuberculosis in Scotland. I have also been involved in conducting training in the Quantum GIS package on behalf of the AfriqueOne consortium and strengthening capacity for sleeping sickness mapping in African countries as part a project with FIND Diagnostics.
